A Fall Wedding Styled Shoot in San Diego
There’s something so fun about getting a bunch of wedding creatives together with no real wedding-day pressure and just getting to make something beautiful.
This fall wedding styled shoot brought together photographers, florists, hair and makeup artists, models, and more for an evening full of warm color, flowers, little details, and a whole lot of playing around.
The palette was basically everything I want fall in San Diego to feel like: burnt orange, deep reds, warm browns, soft green and little touches of gold. Pedal & Stem Floristry brought it all together with the florals, from the bride’s bouquet to the sweetest little arrangements for the bridesmaids.
If you give me rings, flowers and some good light, I’m going to disappear for a while and make tiny still lifes. It’s one of my favorite things to do on wedding days.
I brought both digital and film for this shoot and I’m so glad I did. Film has a way of making all of those warm fall colors feel even warmer, and some of my favorite frames from the evening ended up coming from my Hasselblad.
One of my favorite parts of styled shoots is getting the chance to slow down and experiment. There’s room to try something different, obsess over the little details, and collaborate with other people who care just as much about what they’re creating. Sometimes the behind-the-scenes is just as fun as the finished photos.
A huge thank you to everyone who brought this little fall wedding world to life.
